Harvey Brazier: Sweats Collective Dupe – Affordable Streetwear Shorts You Need to See

If you're into streetwear like I am, you already know how hard it can be to find high quality affordable pieces that actually look good. And finding good streetwear shorts on a budget definitely isn’t an exception. I’m always on the lookout for pieces that look high quality but don’t blow the bank - especially in summer when I want my fits clean without spending £100 on a single pair. One pair I did have and kept seeing everywhere were the Pleated Shorts from Sweats Collective. Super clean baggy fit, comfy, structured, and just designed perfectly. But at £70, they’re definitely not cheap. After them not fitting me anymore, and being in need of a new pair I went on the hunt for a cheap streetwear short that still hits the same. And I’ve actually found a pair that nails the fit, the look, and the vibe - for way less. Let’s get into it.

Why the Sweats Collective Pleated Shorts?

Why the Sweats Collective Pleated Shorts?

I copped the Sweats Collective pleated shorts a while back and they became one of my go-to pairs. If you’re into streetwear, you’ve probably seen them floating around Insta or TikTok – their baggy, clean silhouette with pleats that give it structure without looking too smart.

They’ve got that perfect in-between fit: wide leg, just above the knee, with a flex waist that actually sits right. And the material? You can tell it’s quality. They feel thick without being heavy and hold their shape way better than your usual jersey shorts.

They basically became that pair in my rotation. But like I said, £70 is steep when you’re just trying to stay fitted on a budget.

So I went looking for a better-priced alternative that still kept the vibe.

The Affordable Alternative: Hollister’s Baggy Bermuda Shorts

The Affordable Alternative: Hollister’s Baggy Bermuda Shorts

After some digging, I came across these Baggy Bermuda Flex Waist Shorts from Hollister, and I’ve got to say, they’re a spot-on dupe for the Sweats Collective pleated shorts.

They’ve got the same baggy above-the-knee fit, pleats down the front, and are made from 98% cotton, so they actually hold their shape instead of going all saggy after a few washes. And the best bit? They’re just £30! That’s less than half the price of the Sweats ones. If you catch them during a sale, even cheaper.

The only real difference is the colour range. Hollister only drop them in three colours, whereas Sweats Collective offers nine. But if you’re just after a clean, versatile pair that looks designer without the price tag, these do the job. I’ve been wearing mine non-stop.

Harveys Wardrobe: Sweats Collective Dupe

I’m just a guy who likes clothes. I don’t claim to be some fashion expert – I just enjoy putting fits together and more recently showing people how to dress well without dropping a fortune.

That’s the goal behind everything I post: affordable, clean, wearable outfits that feel like you. I post a lot of daily outfits and affordable finds, and I’ve started selling a few pieces I’ve previously worn on my Depop. If you’re into that sort of thing, feel free to check it out – or follow me on Instagram and TikTok to see more of what I’m wearing and sharing.

Final Thoughts: Streetwear doesn't have to be expensive

Finding solid streetwear on a budget can be long, but it doesn’t have to be. The Hollister shorts are the closest thing I’ve found to the Sweats Collective pleated shorts without spending £70, and I honestly think they’re a steal for the quality and fit. If you’re building your summer wardrobe and want that clean streetwear look without dropping too much, they’re 100% worth a shot.

If you want to see how I’ve styled them or check out what else I’ve picked up recently, give me a follow or hit up my Depop – always keeping things affordable.
